Start and Finish at Mt Penang Parklands - Kariong

These routes are changed from the previous events due to the closure of the Peats Ridge Road, and the RTA decision not to allow the event to occur on the Pacific Highway.

Please note: Because of safety concerns no rider under the age of 18 will be able to participate in the rides. These concerns were expressed by all involved (the Cycle Tour Committee, the NSW Police and Gosford City Council). However, we are continually working on various options for a family ride off public roads, and this year we are adding a Kids Challenge within Mt Penang Parklands.

100km Route - The Century Challenge
Undulating route with some steady climbs.
Starts at Mt Penang Parklands at Kariong/Somersby (just off F3 above Gosford) and travels North out along Wisemans Ferry Rd, to Somersby, and then along Peats Ridge Rd (via the diversion to Central Mangrove) almost to the Calga Interchange. Turnaround here and back for gentle undulating road through Peats Ridge and proceed to Kulnura Store. Turn right into Greta Rd and Springs Rd then back to Mt Penang Parklands via the diversion at Central Mangrove, and a detour via Somersby Falls.

40km Route - The Half Century Challenge
Half the Challenge. Enjoy the scenic countryside.
Starts at Mt Penang Parklands at Kariong/Somersby (just off F3 above Gosford) and travels North out along Wisemans Ferry Rd, to Somersby, and then along Peats Ridge Rd until the diversion. Turn around and back on the same route, with a detour via Somersby Falls, to Mt Penang Parklands. Because of the above mentioned restrictions, we were unable to provide an acceptable route to be 50 km long.
